GM hired 2,500 people in Detroit Hamtramck

GM continues to see its new investment plan, now with the Detroit Hamtramck plant. A site that is primarily concerned with new hires since 2500 additional posts will be created.

A few days ago, GM announced the closure for four weeks of the Detroit Hamtramck plant for installation work tooling to increase production of the Volt, but also accommodate the production of the new Malibu .

A new sedan that will eventually be joined on site by the next generation Impala, which will be renewed soon. For this new model, $ 69 million of tooling will be installed. The current Impala is produced in the factory of Oshawa (Ontario – Canada), along with the Buick Regal and Chevrolet Camaro.

More than investment, it is primarily the job that will greatly benefit from the arrival of these new models. For the production of these two new sedans, in addition to the Volt and ampere, the site will build two additional teams, or 2,500 jobs. Employees previously laid off will have priority on these new positions.
